Role overview

Citygate is a fantastic, privately owned business that has grown significantly over the past twenty years to 650 employees across 16 locations. We work with fantastic brands (Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, SEAT, CUPRA, ŠKODA and Kia), provide incredible training and internal progression opportunities.

We would love a passionate Master Technician to join us to shape the future and carry out general servicing and mechanical repairs on our Volkswagen Group cars and vans.

We have expanded our St Albans location where we are opening a state-of-the-art facility and therefore have fantastic opportunities available there and across our other locations.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Being an ambassador of the Citygate workshop and championing technical best practice.
  • Carrying out service, diagnosis, and repair of vehicles to excellent standards.
  • Communicating with the Service Reception team and Workshop Control.
  • Developing colleagues which also includes support from Volkswagen and the Citygate Academy training.
  • Liaising with customers to provide your expert, technical opinion.
  • Maintaining thorough and up-to-date product knowledge.
  • Maintaining exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of your work.

What we’re looking for

What we’re looking for

  • Experience ideally within a main dealership and have served a recognised apprenticeship with the appropriate qualifications (an NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience of working with The Volkswagen Group brands would be desirable but is not mandatory (excellent training can be provided).
  • The ability to be self-motivated to achieve targets.
  • A passion for learning and if desired to progress further at Citygate.
  • A positive attitude and to be a good team player.
  • The ability to coach and develop colleagues.
  • You must have a full UK driving licence.
