We have ambitious plans for the future and we need driven, focused and skilled teams to help us achieve this. This is why we have our very own Citygate Academy, based in its own purpose-built facility above our Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles branch in Wooburn Green. We prefer to promote from within and the Citygate Academy helps us recognise our stand out employees and provide them with the training needed to progress through our business.

Our biggest achievement yet is being noted as 'Highly Commended' for the AM People Investor Award at the Automotive Management Awards in February 2020.

As our company grows, it is important that everyone we recruit, from showroom hosts to technicians, feel the sense of community we are proud of. Our Academy runs regular inductions for all new starters which cover the company structure, our history, our values and plans for the future. It is a great chance to meet other new starters from around the business, ask questions and our Directors pop in from time to time too.

Our Management Development Programme is designed for our rising stars into management, it aims at improving decision-making, confidence and communication. Similarly, our Citygate Leadership Programme is for those already in manager roles such as Heads of Business and Divisional Leaders so they can continue their progression and update their knowledge. All our colleagues will have an appraisal annually and we offer management training on how to write and deliver these. Our training programmes ensure we have effective leaders throughout the business.

We are fairly unique in our industry as we have our own dedicated Communication Centre in High Wycombe, they are often a customers first contact with Citygate and as our business has grown we have significantly increased the size of the team. Our Academy offers training on customer service, effective communication and organisation skills so we can give every customer the best experience.
