The car we don’t want to tell you about
At Citygate, we’ve fallen in love several times over the years. The Golf GTI raced into our lives in ‘99. The first Skoda Yeti, in gunmetal grey, sauntered in like a sexy tank a decade later. We even had a brief fling with a hybrid concept car, which we can’t mention by name due to an ongoing super-injunction. But as time went by, we had to sell all of the above, and the loss was heart breaking. Still, it’s better to have loved and sold, than to have never loved at all.
That’s why after much soul-searching, we’ve decided to tell you about the all-new Kia Stonic. We already know why it’s perfect for us, but here’s why it’s perfect for you:
It’s a head-turner
Look – we’re not shallow. Beauty is only skin-deep and all that, sure. But look at it. Kia say it has a ’bold design that demands to be noticed.’ We say: ‘that is one hot compact SUV crossover.’ From the sharp, horizontal lines, to the sleek side profile, the Stonic has got it going on. You can even choose from 20 different 2-tone roof colour combinations, so it’s bound to be your type.
It’s what’s inside that counts
The Stonic is packed full of features that make your day better – including a heated steering wheel, a 7” floating touchscreen display, and a rear view monitor with parking guidance. And if all that isn’t enough, the Stonic will tell you when you’re getting drowsy, and warn you if you’re about to hit something in your blind spot. In other words, it’s always there when you need it to be – in our book, that makes it long-term relationship material.
It’s a real goer
We don’t want to go into too much detail here, but it’s safe to say that the Stonic really gets us going. It’s designed for a dynamic, sporty drive – and with its 1.0 T-GDI engine, it delivers it too. 1.0 might not sound like much, until you find out that T-GDI stands for Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection. Oh yeah, that’s right – turbocharged. It’s enough to make you go weak at the knees.
It’s low maintenance
Like every Kia, the Stonic has a 7-year warranty. That’s 2,555 days of pure driving abandon, with no interruption. No strops. No tiffs. No asking you to take the bins out. Just you, your car, the open road, and all of life’s possibilities. So just go now, please – take it. We can’t face this anymore. We hope you’re very happy together. Don’t look back, we’ll be fine. The KIA Stonic will available at our Kia dealerships in late 2017.
